Should clancy be held accountable?
Allegedly, after the crown hole, Clancy’s said to the family most affected, “poor you”. Even if they didn’t contribute to the formation of the holes ……. who talks to people like that ?
It is beyond doubt that Clancy put in a Soakaway at Old Stocks Court in made ground, over suspected chalk mines, seemingly against the advice of the Architects, potentially in violation of the planning and a few years later, one of the largest crown holes on records appeared.
will you hire a firm willing to do this and not take responsibility
Is it possible that the Council are telling the Truth and that Clancy did not tell them about the problems on site when they started building ? The Council records seem to substantiate this position. Clancy deny this and say the Council did detailed surveys of the site and drains before signing off. Clancy however has not been able to produce any evidence to support their position. Perhaps because doing so would only prove that they knew about the issues and put the site in jeopardy any way.
were families put at risk for profit ?
Is it possible that the Council simply lost the information that Clancy insists they gave them ? Perhaps. Is it likely ? Whilst it seems like the Council and Planning may have “dropped the ball” – e.g. it seems that they signed off on a site that was not built as per the plans – would they really have destroyed evidence that showed they knew ? Perhaps not. Stantec, one of the leading experts in the field seem to think Clancy didn’t tell the Council everything that they should have. Both Mary and Dermot Clancy were Directors of the Management Company from 2000 to 2004, so is it possible that they personally were not aware of all the issues. If they did, they don’t seem to have done anything about it ?
please don’t hire clancy
If contractors are not held to account by their Clients, who else will do it ?
contact clancy and ask them how this happened
